Seaweed Glades
The Great Southern Reefs around southern Australia have their own beauty, with a multitude of red, brown and green seaweeds forming dense gardens that oscillate with the rhythm of the waves, revealing glimpses of the red algae encrusted rocks and shy fishes beneath. Giant kelp forests can grow over 30m tall, though are rapidly disappearing as the warming waters push them over the brink. Swimming amongst a seal colony is like being surrounded by a pack of playful puppies.
